Charter:

Article 1 - Name

The name of this organization shall be the Upper Peninsula Quarter Horse Association, hereby known as the UPQHA, and shall at all times be conducted and operated as a non-profit organization in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan Providing for such organizations and by which it shall acquire all rights as granted to associations of this kind.

Article II - Purpose

The UPQHA shall have as its principle objectives:

1. To improve and promote the American Quarter Horse.
2. To educate and to improve and develop the capabilities of both youth and adults, both individuals and through group participation, in the breeding, raising, and exhibition of Quarter Horses.
3. To Sponsor Quarter Horse shows and related activities such as auctions, horse fairs, clinics, etc., as deemed helpful in the promotion of the Quarter Horse.
