Team members were required to attend meetings, help with fund raisers, and get sponsorship money to be eligible to earn a spot on the team. All the team members performed well in their classes and enjoyed the team ceremony. Melanie Louys made the finals in 11 & Under showmanship. The Youth team kicked off its fundraising with a silent auction at the UPQHA Banquet, and they raised over $900 selling a variety of items. At each show team members held fund raisers like training classes, parent walk/trot classes, parent/groom showmanship, egg and spoon, dog showmanship classes, bake sales, and 50/50 card raffles. They also hosted an exhibitor party at the UP Gold Quarter Horse Shows where they grilled brats and burgers and pot-lucked the rest of the meal for a large crowd, and they helped work at the UPQHA Fall Show. Money fund-raised helped in buying the team’s outfits for the NYATT Ceremony, team members stalls and entry fees for the Congress, and money to help members hauling and lodging costs at the show.
